Music Ministry

Music is a major part of what makes Christ UMC so special. The music in worship – anthems, hymns, responses, helps – are all chosen to help express the scripture for that day. We use many styles, ranging from chants and traditional choral music to gospel songs, contemporary worship songs, and African freedom music. We offer multiple musical outlets and opportunties for all ages. Whether you want to just sing along with the congregation in church while you worship, join the choir or other musical ensemble, or just sit back and soak in the wonderful sounds, the music of Christ UMC will enrich your soul.

Adult Choir

Celebration Singers, the adult choir at Christ United Methodist Church will practice Wednesday nights in the main sanctuary. Our priority is not performance, but connecting people to God through music (although the quality of the choral singing is exceptional). When we do meet in person, we do not wear robes, and sit in the congregation instead of sitting in a choir loft so that we are a part of, rather than apart from, the worshipping congregation.
