How do I become a member of Christ UMC?

The first step toward membership at Christ UMC is attending the Connect Class, where you can learn more about the church, its mission, ministries, and what it means to become a member.

Do I have to become a member to attend Christ UMC?

No. Everyone is welcome to worship, participate in ministries, and attend events at Christ UMC, whether or not they choose to become a member.

What does church membership mean?

Membership at Christ UMC is a commitment to grow in your relationship with Christ while supporting the church through prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. It is an opportunity to become part of a community that worships, serves, and shares God's love together.

What is the Connect Class?

The Connect Class is designed for those who want to learn more about Christ UMC. It provides an opportunity to meet church leaders, learn about beliefs and ministries, ask questions, and discover what it means to become a member.

Can I transfer my membership from another church?

Yes. If you are already a member of another United Methodist church, you can transfer your membership to Christ UMC.

Can I still participate if I'm not ready to become a member?

Absolutely. You are welcome to worship, join groups, serve in ministry, and build relationships at Christ UMC while you prayerfully consider membership.

For many people, there comes a point when Christ UMC begins to feel like home. Becoming a member is simply a way of affirming that connection and making a commitment to grow in faith, worship, serve, support, and walk alongside our church family. Whether you're transferring your membership from another United Methodist church or becoming a member for the first time, we'd be honored to walk with you through the process.

Membership is just the beginning. Through our Realm App, Sunday School classes, small groups, outreach opportunities, and ministries, you'll find many ways to build relationships, discover your gifts, and become an active part of the life of Christ UMC.

Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior, put your whole trust in His grace, and promise to serve Him as your Lord?

Will you remain a faithful member of Christ's holy church and serve as Christ's representatives in the world?

Will you be loyal to Christ through The United Methodist Church, and do all in your power to strengthen its ministries?

As members of this congregation, will you faithfully participate in its ministries by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness?

Once you become a member, we invite you to register on Realm, Christ UMC's digital community portal, via this website or the Realm mobile app. Realm provides access to an online member directory, your church giving statements, church event announcements and signups, the ability to update your contact information, and much more! It's a great way to stay in the know about church activities, register for the next event or retreat, and put names with faces as you get more familiar with the congregation.

Once members have created a Realm account, they are encouraged to add their photo and contact information (security settings available). As the portal is populated with more member information, the capabilities and directory details will increase. Please sign up today!
