This annual outdoor fall gathering, begun in 2019, brings together our congregation to tailgate, Christ UMC style, in our spacious back field and pavilion with live football on a movie screen. The event includes award-winning BBQ prepared by Page Thompson, of The Charcoal Cowboys, who competed on Food Network's BBQ Pitmasters. Holy Smoke also includes live music, activities, and bouncy house obstacle courses for the kids. We've even had baking contests and a pie eating contest in past years!
To make this free rain-or-shine event a success, we seek volunteers to help in the kitchen, to serve dinner, and to perform various other duties. We also need bakers willing to share their tasty desserts. And we always welcome new faces who'd like to be part of our planning team.
