Rev. Adam Kelchner

Lead Pastor

Adam was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Hanover County, VA. He came to Middle Tennessee to attend Vanderbilt Divinity School (and aren’t we fortunate that he did!). When he has the time, Adam loves to cycle on his road bike—he once road from Nashville to Hohenwald and back on the Natchez Trace Parkway (that’s 150+ miles). Adam is married to Keeli Lewis and they live with their young daughter Serena locally. They also have a dog named Tybee.

 

Adam's favorite thing about Christ UMC?  

“Architecturally, I love the stone work in the sanctuary. People wise, I love watching long-time church members meet first-time visitors.”

Rev. Scott Marshall-Kimball

Associate Pastor

Scott grew up in California. After college, he worked in Nashville for 6 years in sales, then went back to California for seminary… and now here he is again, back in Middle Tennessee! Scott is an avid sports fan, and roots for the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, Warriors, Sharks, and Xavier. He is also a huge Hall & Oates fan. Scott lives in Brentwood with his wife Susanna and their dog Oates.

Rev. Anne Hook

Minister of Music and Worship

Anne was raised in Memphis. She is in her 20th year on staff of Christ UMC! Over the years, Anne has been on the editorial teams of both The Faith We Sing and Worship and Song United Methodist hymnals. In her spare time, she loves to work with wood, and is a huge fan of power tools! Anne and her husband Dave live in Franklin; they have two sons, Stephen (at Columbia State) and Andrew (a senior at Page High School).

“The Spirit!! Working with most of the staff ;) – and getting to stay in one church while raising my family.”

Rev. Mark Price

Pastor of Congregational Life

Mark is a self-declared Tar Heel from Winston-Salem, NC—home to Krispy Kreme donuts, about which Mark is proud and to which he is devoted. Prior to his current ministerial vocation, he spent a decade as an editor at Abingdon Press. He is also known as “Captain Flynt.” Mark lives in Franklin with his loving and extremely patient wife Marné.

Rev. Paul Bonner

Youth Minister

Paul grew up in Brentwood, TN, and has seen a lot of changes over the years. He’s been blessed to work in youth ministry since 2000, and has been with Christ UMC since 2004—he feels God has given him the gifts and patience to work with teenagers. Paul loves woodworking, playing racquetball and disc golf, and doing just about anything outdoors. He lives in Franklin with his wife Amy and their son Isaac.


Pauls' favorite thing about Christ UMC?  

“Retreats! I love being on retreats with the families and students in our congregation! It’s a great time of growing in faith, community, spending time in worship, and making new memories.”

Katie Rhodes

Associate Youth Minister

Katie is originally from Crestview Hills, KY. Officially on staff since 2017, Katie began volunteering at Christ UMC back in 2011. If you spend any amount of time with her you’ll learn she is a fan of all things Wisconsin… cheese, football, cold weather, etc. Katie lives in Franklin with her husband Josh and their three children, Susie, Thatcher, and Axton.

Aimee Cox

Director of Children's Ministry

Aimee was born in Morristown, TN and grew up in Johnson City. She moved to the Nashville area in 2006. She loves writing, reading tons of books, and organizing things… and most of all the Nashville Predators! Curiously, Aimee has a strangely keen sense of smell, which borders on a super power. And, as many at Christ UMC know, Aimee also loves hand sanitizer! She lives in Spring Hill with her husband Matt and their three girls, Mattilda, Alice, and Emmylou.

 

Aimee's favorite thing about Christ UMC?  

“Our church welcomes children into worship in such a beautiful way. Children are always included and often times considered leaders.”

Michael Deweese

Business Administrator

Michael was born in Nashville, and has lived in Tennessee his whole life. He started his career as an engineer and then went to business school to study business, accounting, finance, and marketing. Michael’s children are his full-time passion these days—in the past he enjoyed fencing, rock climbing, and hiking. He and his wife live here in Franklin with their two children.

Bill Griese

Communications Coordinator

Bill Griese is originally from Northern New Jersey. He and his wife moved to Franklin in 2012 and almost immediately began attending Christ UMC. He’s been on staff at the church since May of 2016. Bill has spent his career in marketing, and has lived in a few different places over the years (Colorado, Chicago, NY/NJ). He is a music fan and musician (acoustic guitar), and also loves to hike and play tennis. Bill lives in Franklin, TN with his wife and two teenage children, Liam and Katie.

Robin Kennedy

Administrative Assistant

Robin is originally from Long Island, NY, and lived in the North Carolina mountains prior to moving to Tennessee in 1991. She has worked here at Christ UMC for over 20 years! Robin loves to play tennis, and is a huge chocolate fan—but most importantly she is a proud and loving grandmother. She lives in Brentwood with her husband Joe, and has two grown children, Katie and Chris, a daughter-in-law, and a doted-upon granddaughter, .

Randall Mills

Building Superintendant

Randall grew up in Tennessee. His life has been “interesting” by his own words, and he has worked many jobs and traveled a long road in life, which has at times been a hard one. His career here at the church is one he feels truly blessed to have. Randall enjoys spending time with his grandsons, and loves to watch them play football. He is a music fan and likes to spend time playing guitar and singing. Lastly, Randall is a big Alabama fan (“Roll Tide”). Randall lives right here in Franklin with his wife.

 

Randall's favorite thing about Christ UMC?  

“Countless! I joined Christ UMC many years ago and now have the pleasure of working in the church as Building Superintendent.”

Scott Gerow

Sound Engineer


Scott is originally from Miami, FL. In addition to running and orchestrating sound for Christ UMC, he owns his own production company and recording studio, Batterry Lane Music. Scott has lived in a number of different places throughout his life, including Miami, Austria, Georgia, and Nashville. Scott loves playing music, hiking and camping, kayaking, and flying. He lives in Nashville with his wife and son.

Jon Calvin

Music Associate

 

Jon Calvin was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Jon has been Christ UMC’s regular piano player for over 15 years. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston (too many years ago to mention here) Jon likes to play all kinds of music and tries to sneak in some unusual things once in a while. Jon and his wife Becky live in Spring Hill.

Sharlet Panhalkar

Ministry Intern


Sharlet was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She is serving with us now as part of her second year of the Master of Divinity Program at Vanderbilt University. Sharlet moved to the United States in 2005 and has been a member of Christ UMC since 2005. Prior to Divinity School, she worked internationally in healthcare administration and management. Her passions include singing, dancing, listening to Gospel music, cooking, and spending time with family. Sharlet lives in Franklin with her husband Ujwal and their three children, Joel, Joanna, and Jessica.
