All Church Study and Worship Series
on The Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations
September 28th-November 2nd
What's This All About?
For five weeks, we will be studying the book, Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations by Robert Schnase. We will study the book in worship, Sunday School Classes, Small Groups, and will experience some of the practices first hand through community events.
The purpose is to give ourselves an opportunity for creative change and growth in our life together and in our ministry into our community by breaking down the mission of the church into essential and achievable tasks.
Interested in reading the book? Click Here to Purchase (books will also be available at Christ UMC starting September 29th).

Five Practices Community Events
What better way to practice Radical Hospitality than with delicious, free BBQ and College Football?!?! On September 28th from 2:30-7:00 PM, we'll be hosting our first ever Holy Smoke BBQ. This event is open and free of charge to all. For more information on the event and to learn how you can volunteer Click Here.
In worship while we celebrate the practice of Risk-Taking Mission and Service, Christ UMC's Prison Ministry Team will be welcoming back returning citizens, who developed a relationship with our church while they were incarcerated. For more information on how you can be involved in Prison Ministry please contact Rev. Scott Marshall-Kimball
As part of the practice of Passionate Worship we'll be holding a campfire sing-along night at Christ UMC. People are invited to come enjoy a time of music and fun, and are have the option of camping out on the back lawn of the church (weather permitting). Click Here For More Information and Registration.
We'll continue celebrating the practice of Passionate Worship with Praise in the Pub at McCreary's Irish Pub and Eatery from 6-9 PM on Sunday night. We'll enjoy singing songs of praise and some classic pub songs. Space will be limited due to the size of the venue. For more information and to buy tickets Click Here
How Can I Get Involved?
Why take the time join a small group? Because we are wired by God to be in relationships – we seek to connect and belong. We want to meet that need for community and connection through small groups. As a church we'll be getting together in smaller amd more varied settings to form new connections and perspectives as we study The Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations. Click Here to sign up or contact Rev. Mark Price for more information.
Each week we'll be celebrating and promoting one of the Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations through sermons and first hand witnesses about the meaning and depth of each practice. Come learn, celebrate, and be inspired!
Our Orbit Youth Group and Children's Ministries have developed age specific programs for the Five Practices and will be helping our congregation to learn about the Five Practices in worship.
Sunday School classes will be focusing on studying the Five Practices throughout our all church study and worship series. Haven't found a Sunday School class yet? Rev. Scott Marshall-Kimball will be leading a new class to focus on the Five Practices starting on September 22nd.
Come have fun and experience some of the Five Practices in action.
This is an exciting time for our church. Let those around you know what has inspired you, share your energy, and wait to see what God will do with it!
